PLI Associates Support Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

Through the Phoenix Logistics Community Connection program our associates are pleased to show their support and appreciation to the men, women and children of our Marine and Navy Corpsmen by making a donation to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.  This particular opportunity to make a difference was presented to us by our very own Navy Cross recipient, Robert J. Mitchell.

Celebrating 10 Years in Space with NASA

On Monday, November 1st, 2010, NASA celebrated 10 years of continuous habitation onboard the International Space Station. The last Space Station that held the continuous habitation record was Russia’s Mir Space Station with 3,644 days. NASA also surpassed the 1.5 billion mile mark of its travels, the following day with six residents on board and six visitors on their way.

Phoenix Logistics has supported the International Space Station with space grade interconnect products since 1996. In addition to providing space rated In-Line Data Bus Couplers we have supported NASA with unique solutions to difficult engineering challenges. In 1999 we developed and installed a solution for a problem with the ISS Trailing Umbilical System (TUS) cable connectors. The TUS provides power, command and data and video connections to the Mobile Transporter railcar. Two redundant cable reels support the Mobile Transporter and Mobile Base System, a movable platform that allows the station’s robotic arm to move back and forth along the truss in support of construction and maintenance work. In 2007 we provided, engineering, product, training, and support services at Kennedy Space Flight Center for the Phoenix Logistics TUS connector solution.

PLI Sponsors Navy League

Phoenix Logistics recently attended the Naval League Dinner in Scottsdale, AZ with five employees, one of whom was honored as a special guest for the evening.

The Navy League was founded in 1902 and has continued to uphold a mission of supporting the members of the sea services and their families through events like these. One of Phoenix Logistics’ employees, RJ Mitchell, was honored, having been a Navy Cross recipient for combat action during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Also in attendance were Scottsdale’s mayor Jim Lane and many officers representing 47 different countries who attended the Naval College.

Introducing the Anti-Rotate TNC Connector

Phoenix Logistics is pleased to announce its newly developed front-end field replaceable Anti-Rotate RF Microwave connector.  The PLI solution is a simple and easy to use connector that eliminates the need for lockwire/safety wire that can lead to potential FOD in an aircraft.  The PLI anti-rotate microwave connector maintains the required torque to ensure that the connector interface remains fully engaged throughout the operational profile that any aircraft may experience.
