PLI Provides Advanced Medical Simulation Training for VA

Phoenix Logistics, Inc. (PLI) recently completed advanced medical simulation training for the Veterans Administration at Lake Nona, FL. PLI worked with endovascular experts and endovascular training / simulation developer and teammate Orzone to prepare a program of instruction for Medical Doctors and supporting surgical team members. The training was centered around the endovascular simulation training device ORCAMP, which was previously installed and transitioned to the VA by PLI under a separate contract.

The ORCAMP Simulator is the world's most realistic and comprehensive live training environment for surgical team training designed to improve health care delivery and patient outcomes. The ORCAMP is a hands-on individual, collective and team skills training solution that provides a complete immersive environment simulating the entire operating theatre to include the operating table, C-arm and all control functions, surgical tools, visual displays, real time dynamic patient response and operating room sounds. The ORCAMP Simulation integrates a wide range of different simulation technologies to include complete After Action Review (AAR) to create realistic training for the VA to train, rehearse and standardize surgical team training.

PLI's Orlando Business Manager Greg Williamitis stated that "the collaboration with Orzone for medical simulation and training services during multiple program deliveries to the VA National Simulation Center SimLearn Facility has been extremely rewarding, and has dramatically expanded our simulation & training experience and program offerings in the commercial, government and defense markets." Performing as the prime contractor for the procurement, installation and training delivery for the 52,000 Sq. Ft. medical training and simulation facility has enabled PLI to establish critical business and professional collaboration relationships across several domains merging simulation technology capabilities with the desired medical training capabilities. Greg went on to say that "this experience enhances our ability to pursue complex medical training and simulation service opportunities focused on improving individual and team standardization, patient outcomes, and research and development focused on developing leading edge medical training systems and simulation technologies."
